IELTS Reading tips & tricks

2) READING
   Reading is our 2nd chapter. Reading is generally considered as one of the hard part in IELTS. Many students fail to score good in reading which effect their overall score. But, after reading some tips & tricks from our blog, you will feel that reading is the easy part.

Now, tips & tricks for reading are as follows:

- PRE-PREPARATION
I had previously talked about pre-preparation in our previous chapter which was for listening. Again, it is beneficial for reading too. Before solving the problems, underline the keywords and read the questions carefully.

- QUICK READING
Many students can't solve all the problems in reading. The main problem is due to slow reading and giving more time to the questions. In order to 
complete reading in time, you must read the passage and questions quickly and underline the sentences and words which you feel are matching with the keywords. This helps you a lot to solve your problems in a short time.

- SEQUENTIAL QUESTIONS
There are questions whose answers are in sequential order. So, if you know it, it will be easier for you to find the right answers. All types of gap-fill (sentences, summaries, diagrams etc.) True, false, not givenYes, no, not given, Multiple choice, Matching sentence endings'Short answer' questions answers in sequential order.

However, answers to the following question types are never in order:

Matching paragraph headings, which paragraph contains the information?, Matching names with statements or information easier for you to find the right answers.

- TIME MANAGEMENT
    In reading, you have three passages and one hour time. So, dividing the time, you have twenty minutes for each passage. It is very much beneficial for you, if you can solve initial passage in short time but don't hurry because when you solve problems in hurry you will have possibility of making more mistakes.

- PRACTICE
Practise is an important thing for any works. So, in IELTS reading too, it plays a vital role. Practice more and more and I am sure you will get your desired score.

         Last but not the least read English magazines, newspapers, blogs,etc. to develop the habit of reading and be habitual with different words.
